Learning Space

Centre Houamla designs trails and workshops to give young visitors the keys to reading the objects and the cultures they represent.

For schools

Trails adapted to every level

From kindergarten to high school, every visit is built around a simple thread: observe the material, understand the gesture, connect the object to its use.

Kindergarten & primary

Touch the earth, see the shape

A sensory visit around pottery: shapes, textures and colours, followed by a modelling workshop in the classroom or on site.

Middle school

Read an object, understand a culture

An investigative trail through the three rooms to learn how to observe a work: material, technique, function, provenance.

High school

Objects, memory and transmission

An in-depth reflection on the role of objects in passing on a cultural identity, linked to art history curricula.

All levels

Adornment workshop — stringing and composing

A hands-on jewellery-making workshop inspired by the bead-assembly techniques found in the collection.
