From domestic pots to painted ceremonial bowls, this room traces pottery-shaping and firing techniques across continents, from freehand modelling to incised motifs.
A sculpted group of warriors and a totemic figure make up this room devoted to sculpture as the living memory of communities: protecting a household, passing on a lineage, marking social status.
Cowrie headdresses, beaded necklaces and woven strands reveal adornment as a language: status, ceremony, belonging to a group.
The permanent trail can be visited freely, in whichever order you choose. Each room offers room cards in French and English, along with chronological and geographical landmarks.
